Our Story

Frosty Pine began when founder David Chen recognised a gap in the market for renovation services that genuinely listened to homeowners. After years working for larger construction firms, he noticed too many projects where design decisions were made for convenience rather than for the people who would actually live in the spaces.

Starting with small residential projects in 2011, the business grew through recommendations. Clients appreciated the collaborative approach and the fact that their homes were treated with the same care David would give his own property.

Today, we're a team of twelve, including interior designers, project managers, and skilled trades. We've retained that original commitment to personal service while developing the expertise to handle more complex projects. Every member of our team understands that we're working on someone's home, not just another job.

What hasn't changed is our belief that good design should be accessible and that renovations don't need to be stressful. We've refined our processes over the years specifically to make the experience as straightforward as possible for our clients.

With over twenty years in the industry, David brings both technical expertise and design sensibility to every project. He still personally oversees all major renovations and particularly enjoys the challenge of period property restoration.

Rebecca Wallace

Interior Designer

Rebecca has a background in architectural design and a talent for creating cohesive colour schemes and material palettes. She works closely with clients to translate their ideas into detailed design plans.

Marcus Thompson

Project Manager

Marcus ensures projects run smoothly from start to finish. His attention to scheduling and his ability to coordinate multiple trades means work progresses efficiently with minimal disruption.

Elena Popescu

Lead Carpenter

Elena's carpentry skills are exceptional, particularly when it comes to bespoke joinery and fitted furniture. She trained in traditional methods before specialising in contemporary designs and can turn nearly any concept into reality.

How We're Different

Many renovation companies either focus purely on construction or purely on design. We integrate both from the very beginning. Our designers understand building constraints, and our builders appreciate design intent. This integration means fewer misunderstandings and better results.

We also take a long-term view. A beautiful kitchen that develops problems after two years isn't a success. We use materials and methods that we know will last, based on seeing what works and what doesn't over fifteen years of projects.

Size matters too. We're large enough to handle significant renovations with proper project management, but small enough that you're not just another project number. David or Rebecca reviews every design personally, and Marcus knows every active project intimately.

Finally, we maintain relationships beyond project completion. Clients know they can call us for advice, recommendations, or minor adjustments years later. Some of our best new projects come from clients we worked with five or ten years ago who are ready for their next renovation.

Building Trust

Insurance & Liability

We carry comprehensive public liability insurance covering up to £5 million. All work is guaranteed against defects in materials or workmanship for a minimum of two years. Structural work and specific installations carry longer guarantees as standard.

Clear Communication

You'll have a single point of contact throughout your project who keeps you informed of progress and any decisions that need making. We respond to queries promptly and maintain detailed records of all discussions and agreements.

Transparent Pricing

Our quotations break down costs clearly. If circumstances require changes to the scope or budget, we explain exactly why and what the options are. You'll never receive an unexplained invoice for additional work.
